As I prepare to go to Central Asia for the first time for an Inter-Varsity Global Partnership, I am thankful for the ways that supporters, friends, and family have been a constant source of support.
My dear supporters have been extremely generous in their financial gifts, as well as their prayers. My church has rallied around me and supported me in ways I could only imagine. All congregations have given me their blessing and even those who are a part of the children's ministry took offering in the month of May to send me to Central Asia.
I heard stories of how kids would do chores to get money to put in their offering boxes and how they were excited to see me go on a missions trip. These stories touched me deeply, and the card that they made for me sits in my room, reminding me of the people who are sending me.
When I made a church presentation a few weeks back saying that my team still lacked resources, so many people came up to me afterward and asked how they could give to my students. This was an act of overwhelming kindness and blessing!
Not only have I received abundantly through finances, my friends have been extremely helpful in making sure I have the materials to go. One friend lent me her travel backpack, another friend lent me her thermarest for the month, and still another gave me her money pouch, so that I wouldn't have to buy one. Another donated her scrapbooking supplies so that we could make cards with the students we are teaching English to.
Still others have been a source of encouragement, reminding me of why I am going and setting my mind straight on God and His Kingdom.
So to all of my supporters, friends, and family, I am extremely grateful for your continued supported to me, and this time, to my team. We are thankful that we can partner with you in this ministry and I am sure we will come back with stories that will encourage us and remind us that the Kingdom of God is near!
