This weekend, KCF had its yearly fall retreat. Last week, I wasn't sure if it was going to happen because not many people signed up for it. Yet, the leadership team decided it was still good to have it and treat it like a leadership retreat. And I am grateful that they made this decision because my instinct was to cancel the whole thing.
Anyway, I am so thankful that it happened because what came out of it was astounding. We were challenged on what it looks like to be a community that is diverse and growing, rather than a club that is homogeneous and stable. We were reminded that we have a choice to live our faith out, not only with our actions but with our words.
We remembered the simple fact that we evangelize not only by organizing evangelism events, but that in every single thing that we do, it should be an act of evangelism. We evangelize in humility, not our of the mentality that we are so much better than a non-believer, but that God loves the sinners and wants to bring healing to every individual. We share the Gospel out of the love, showing God's love to those around us, because God loved us first.
There was a lot that happened and I can't wait to see what God does among us this year. One thing is for sure, the 15 of us who attended are certain that God has a higher calling for KCF, to be a light on campus, especially for those who do not follow Him.
If you can, please pray that what we experienced this weekend won't be a great memory, but a weekend of God tugging at our hearts that will lead us into action.
