Campus ministers are human too. We have our faults and forget the lessons that God has taught us. And sometimes, we need our students to remind us what the vision is and what God wants for His people.
I had a leadership team meeting with my KCF students last night and we had a great discussion about what it means to be leaders and how we can be intentional in spending time with people in the community. We talked about how we need to raise up the next generation of leaders for KCF, because most of these student leaders will be graduating. I affirmed these comments and told them that the mark of a good leader is how many other leaders he or she can raise up.
This morning, I check my inbox and one of my student leaders who was in the meeting yesterday mentioned how if all we do as leaders is raise up students for KCF, that is useless. We need to be raising up student leaders for the Kingdom of God.
What a revelation! It hit me pretty hard this morning, but it was God's gentle reminder that if I do anything in the name of Inter-Varsity, or Korean Christian Fellowship, it is futile and will lead to death.
So I am humbled and thankful to be reminded that all I am doing with my life is in the Name of Jesus and for the Kingdom of God. This is the way to life, for myself, for my students, and for all of us!
