Okay, I go to different places and I see Christmas trees, decorations, and I hear Christmas songs playing. My house is decorated with a tree and stockings. I have been to a few Christmas parties and had turkey, cranberries, and gingerbread, which are Christmas foods. Despite this, it really doesn't feel like Christmas to me.
What is Christmas supposed to feel like anyway? To me, it is a time for family and friends to get together and celebrate the Saviour's birth.
And why are we restricted to celebrate Jesus' birth in the month of December? These days, I am continually thankful for Jesus' birth, because without Him, I couldn't receive the redemption and reconciliation that I need, for myself and those around me. Without Jesus, I wouldn't be the person who I am. Without Him, I would have given up on dealing with my brokenness a long time ago.
In this season, I am not going over the top to celebrate Christmas, because in my life, I am learning to be thankful for Jesus at all times.
