In the 2.5 weeks since I have returned from Bangladesh, a fire and a landslide have killed hundreds of people. It's true that I am paying attention more because I just came back from there, but it is also because these two tragedies happened in places that I went to when I was in the country.
The fire happened in Old Dhaka, which was where my placement was located and where our team spent an afternoon with the Bible Students Fellowship of Bangladesh (BSFB) students. The landslide happened in Cox's Bazar, which is where our team travelled to for 4 days of relaxation before finishing off our time in Bangladesh. We met people in both of those places, and it helped us grow a love for the country.
My heart grieves to see Bangladesh suffering from these tragedies. And since I am so far away, all I can do is pray to the One who is able to hear and answer prayers.
