And the prayers that were answered were not the typical prayers we would pray in North America. We witnessed physical healing, God controlling weather, and prayers being answered just in the nick of time. Maybe these would be the prayers we pray back home, but we never noticed it the way we did while we were in Bangladesh.
From the moment that we gathered together as a team for orientation, we felt like God was pouring out his Spirit on us. As we studied Scripture on the Spirit, we believed that it could happen to us, and it did. As a result, we prayed like we never did before. Part of the reason was because we couldn't do anything else but pray, but halfway through our GP, we prayed because we knew it was the thing to do.
Our prayers changed from an attitude of hoping God would answer the things we were praying for to a belief that if we prayed what was on God's heart, He would answer. We also felt ourselves very in tune with God, so that when we prayed, we had a sense that God would creatively answer our prayers.
I can't wait to pray like this back in Canada. The prayers that God answered were astounding and I hope that we can all experience this together. God is a God of abundance. I learned that He loves to answer the prayers of His people.
