It's been a while since I have been in Hamilton. I definitely haven't been in Hamilton on a Tuesday night, which is summer Scripture study night.
Well, tonight I walked into it after going to church for a worship practice and heard the living room buzzing, people everywhere, and the whole first floor boiling hot. You have to understand that my house is known for its coldness, so if it's boiling hot, that means there is at least 15 people in the room.
Taking a quick glance around, there were at least 15, if not, 20 people over tonight. It was really exciting to me.
The even more exciting thing? Well, that it is a joint small group between VCF and KCF. I had to stop and think for a moment how beautiful this picture was, how last summer, we couldn't get any KCF students out to summer Scripture study, and this year, they're out in full force and inviting more people out every week!
I haven't seen good pictures of partnership for a long time. Either, the dominant group totally takes over the smaller group or there are strict divisions. It's not looking this way for VCF and KCF at McMaster. The two groups are definitely mingling and experiencing life together.
My prayer is that it stays this way for a while to come. It's a beautiful picture of God bringing two together to become one.
