Although it's Thanksgiving, and I have a lot to be thankful for, I actually wondered when this week would end. It definitely has been one of the strangest weeks I can remember.
Numerous friends were dealing with a friend (who I didn't know) who passed away too soon. Another friend was dealing with the loss of a friendship. Another friend was dealing with a loss of a family member. Finally, one last friend revealed some pretty significant things about his/her life that has shocked me, but has also shown me God's redemption and desire for us all to be healed.
It has been interesting to ask God why all of this news/tragedy happened during the same week. He hasn't given me any answers yet, but it has made me reflect on my own brokenness and the sins that I have been carrying for a while. And in those reflections, I am reminded of God's message of love and how He wants us all to be honest with our struggles, so that He can give us true healing.
He is the doctor. And He isn't looking for the "healthy" to heal, He's looking to heal those who acknowledge their sickness.
