The Olympics are in full swing. Canada has won 6 medals so far and has finally won a gold medal while hosting the Olympics. I haven't been watching much of the events, since I have been busy and in places where there is no cable. Yet, every time I do watch, I am amazed at the determination and drive that the athletes have.
And this makes me think, what principles can I take from the Olympics and apply it to my own life? Are there principles that apply to ministry as well?
I am intrigued by how athletes put their mind to a vision and go for it, at all costs. Is it possible to help students do the same? Is it possible for them to pursue a tangible part of the Kingdom of God and go for it, even if it takes time, dedication, and perseverance?
I know it is possible, but I am not sure how quite yet. As I watch the Olympics with friends and my students, this will be the question that I have in mind.
